As you may recall, about one year ago Taco Bell released a commercial featuring the Passion Pit song “Take A Walk.” Some fans criticized the band, as might be expected whenever artists align with huge corporations. But Passion Pit defended the decision: “It’s not about promoting celebrities or giant corporations or anything like that,” frontman Michael Angelakos said in an interview. “It’s just airtime. It’s an amazing opportunity. And, honestly, you take what you can get. I say no to about 90 percent of the offers, but we just want people to hear the music at end of the day.”

It seems the band hasn’t changed their perspective. About one year later, Taco Bell’s corporate sponsorship of Passion Pit has now gone even further: the fast food chain just released a 50-minute documentary about the band, chronicling their trip to SXSW 2013, where they played a Taco Bell sponsored show. The documentary is titled Hello Everywhere and also features the L.A. band Wildcat! Wildcat! It was directed by Sam Jones, who was also responsible for the 2002 Wilco doc I Am Trying to Break Your Heart.

The film features interviews with fans, as well as fan-shot footage from the SXSW performance. It gives an honest portrayal of the band’s experiences with SXSW over the years: in the first seconds of the film, Angelakos recalls “not having fond memories” of SXSW 2009. “That place really screws you up,” he later says.
