So many new album streams today! You should probably make time for this one, though. The New York disco-pop duo Holy Ghost! are about to return with their sophomore LP Dynamics, the follow-up to 2011’s self-titled debut, and the new album sounds gorgeous on first listen. The band always came off like the smoothest act on DFA, and when they linked up with Michael McDonald, it felt somehow more appropriate than when Grizzly Bear did the same thing. On Dymanics, they make their sound even slicker and lusher, and some of their chorus melodies are absolutely swoon-worthy. People like Kelley Polar and LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang contribute, which sure doesn’t hurt. We’ve already posted the early tracks “Teenagers In Heat” and “Okay,” and now you can stream the whole thing at Pitchfork.
Dynamics is out 9/10 via DFA.
