Over the weekend, we reported that a hologram of Eazy-E performed with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at the Rock The Bells tour kick-off in San Bernardino, CA. But this was not the only rapper to be raised from the dead, as a projected Ol’ Dirty Bastard came out at last night’s Bells to “perform” alongside the living members of his group Wu-Tang Clan. Earlier this year, it was reported that the TLC reunion at July’s Mixtape Festival would include a holographic accompaniment from Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. She was ultimately replaced by Brooklyn’s Lil’ Mama, who portrays Lopes in CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, an upcoming VH1 biopic about the group. So, these are your options: You pick up a struggling rapper to fill in for your fallen friend or you turn them into creepy light show. Let’s do better than that. Never forgot: will.i.am was the first hologram rapper. Watch Wu-tang reunite and check out a list of hologram performance protocol below.
