“It’s a really cool town but I wish I could leave today,” sings Chris Keene of Mean Creek on “Cool Town,” the first single from the band’s upcoming album Local Losers. In line with the sorts of huge, hooky rock songs on the Boston 4-piece’s 2012 LP Youth Companion, it’s a timeless, anthemic track — a song about having a love-hate relationships with a place you know you should probably leave. Mean Creek released the single last month, and now they have made a very funny video for it, reminding everyone of how seriously they take themselves by creating a spoof on Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic” video. Check it out below. The video was directed by James Lindsay & Richard TK Hawke.

Local Losers is out January 28 via Old Flame Records.
