Russian Circles - Memorial

The glacial and grand Chicago post-metal band Russian Circles are mere weeks away from releasing their new album Memorial, and we’ve already posted the title track (which features vocals from Chelsea Wolfe) and “Deficit.” If you’re ready to be overcome by majesty once again, then you’d do well to check out the grand and welcoming seven-minute instrumental “1777,” which sounds closer to Sigur Rós or Explosions In The Sky than it does to Morbid Angel or Darkthrone (though it does have some teeth). Listen below.

Memorial is out 10/29 on Sargent House.

  1. Words can’t describe how excited I am for this album. I’m hoping for something kind of similar to Station. If it has anything as beautiful as Xavii on it, I’ll be a very happy man.

  2. I freakin’ love Memorial. While I’ll admit, I’m not generally into their brand of music, I’m glad I got introduced to them. I think I will be picking this one up.
