Deafheaven

They might not be the corpsepaint type, but the Bay Area black metal tinkerers Deafheaven still make a brutal roar, and you could imagine that they would intimidate the living hell out of a 13-year-old. So credit Marcel, the young author of this music blog, with having the gumption to sit with the band’s two members for a 14-minute video interview before a show the band played in Southern California. The kid deserves enormous props for doing stuff like this at his age. The Deafheaven guys, for their part, also deserve credit for giving serious and thoughtful answers to all his questions. Watch it below; it’s nice.

Deafheaven’s great Sunbather is out now on Deathwish, Inc.

      • Fucking listen to yourself, man.

My god, you’re a self-obsessed, entitled, petty little twit.

    • :( Michael_, I like you man but are you doing ok? You’re not a failure. Many on the board like you, but I doubt many can defend you taking it out on a random 13 year old kid. Whatever storm is going on I hope it passes for you. Honestly. :(

  4. ”Sunbather” is one of my top favorite albums of the year. I was surprised to actually get into what is considered ”black metal”, but they made it appealing and completely easy. I think the kid is very wise for his age and asked some good questions. When I was his age I was doing musical theater, so its never to early to embrace the arts.
