One of the best surprises of 2013 was hearing Eric Copeland making jams again for DFA, which has been easing back into more experimental releases. Black Dice were always the dangerous wild card in the early days of DFA, and only in the years after they’ve left have they started moving towards that dancier sound. “Cheap Treats” is a trippy couple of minutes, and even though it’s dancier than Copeland’s main project you can still hear the processed guitar sound that hearkens all the way back to Beaches And Canyons. This new video for it even comes off like a softer, less aggressive take on what they did last year with “Pigs.” Watch below.
