The Killers

After the news of Lou Reed’s death circulated on Sunday, a whole lot of bands worked one of his songs into their setlists over the next few weeks. We’re only seeing the footage now, but past Reed collaborators the Killers played a hometown show in Las Vegas, at the Life Is Beautiful Festival, on Sunday night. During their set, Brandon Flowers admitted that the band was attempting to rip Reed off when they wrote “All These Things That I’ve Done,” and they played a somewhat leaden cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes.” Watch a fan-made video below.

Maybe it’s wrong, but I hope bands don’t stop it with the Velvet Underground covers next week.
