Two years ago, Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival expanded its scope into South America, launching festivals in both Chile and Brazil, a risky but fascinating move. Both of those festivals are still going strong, and this year, they’ve added another festival, this one in Argentina. We’re still waiting on the Brazil lineup, but that festival comes to São Paulo’s Interlagos Race Track next 4/5-6. Meanwhile, the festivals in Chile and Argentina have both announced their lineups.
Lollapalooza Chile goes down next 3/29-30 at Santiago’s O’Higgins Park, and Lollapalooza Argentina comes to Hipodromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aries 4/1-2. Both lineups have tons of artists from their respective countries, but the two lineups of international performers are more or less identical. Both fests will feature some serious heavy hitters: Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Pixies, New Order, Julian Casablancas, Lorde, Johnny Marr, Ellie Goulding, Kid Cudi, Savages, Flume, Baauer, AFI, and a tone of others.
