As evidenced by early singles “Keeley” and the Marissa Nadler collab “Faster Than The Devil,” Emily Jane White’s sound is the farthest thing from the audio sunshine we stereotypically associate with California singer-songwriters. Call her the anti-Cosentino, the confirmation that, yes, night does fall on the West Coast and the vibes aren’t always so easygoing out there by the seashore. Now we can hear White’s latest release, Blood/Lines, in all its ominous orchestral splendor. Stream the album below.
Blood/Lines is out 11/19 via Important Records.
