  1. happy happy joy joy

  2. *cough cough* maybe Coachella *cough cough*

  3. That long open space between May 2nd and July 30th would make them available for Bonnaroo or Pitchfork Fest or Sasquatch. SO MANY OPTIONS!

  4. Ok so I know it says Montreal on the 30th of August, but I have no doubts in my mind that they will be headlining Montreal’s huge music festival, Osheaga, which is on the 2nd of August.

  5. They’ve essentially left spots open for all the big ones.
Coachella, Lollapalooza (though that seems unlikely considering how recently they’ve played it), Bonnaroo, Pitchfork, and Sasquatch, and Bumbershoot are all open.

The only thing they’re definitely not playing is SXSW

    Interesting. Verrrry interesting.

  6. well they’ve left spots open but dont most of those festivals forbid you from playing the town months before or after. That pretty much rules out p4k for palooza & p4k.

    • I think it rules out lollapalooza. I’m not sure that rules out p4k. I feel like I’ve seen a few shows from bands who played pitchfork that were pretty close to the festival date (and they weren’t after shows or anything like that). Maybe I’m remembering it wrong. Still, I have a feeling p4k won’t happen this time around for arcade fire.

  7. only 9 months to go!

  8. Just for the record, Edmonton is one word.

  9. for the record Winnipeg is in Mantioba not Saskatchewan

  10. Cool, they’re hitting their roots, the old suburbs of the Woodlands outside of Houston, this internationally recognized “Canadian” band whose bothers were reared in TX. They’re a Montreal band like Spoon is a Portland band.

    • They played in the Woodlands a few years back with Explosions in the Sky.

Win said “Sprawl I” was about driving around in the Woodlands and getting pulled over by the cops. Win also said that he used to work at the same Pavilion as a ticket taker. Plus, many of their family and friends were in attendance. They definitely acknowledged playing in their old suburbs.

  11. Albert uh, I guess you’ve never been to EDM Onton – Canada’s dance music capital. I believe it’s the hometown of B44 and Love Inc.

  12. I’ll never understand why they didn’t call this “The Reflektour”

  13. Thank you based reflektor

  14. let’s prognosticate opening acts:

    -Julian Casablancas
    -Franz Ferdinand

  15. Why so many indoor dates on a summer tour? There are so many great outdoor venues, cmon guys!

  16. The Gorge in Seattle?! It’s a 2 hour drive+ from Seattle.

    • LMAO that’s a hell of an oversight. Especially since everyone knows it’s in GEORGE, WASHINGTON!

Who would turn down an opportunity to let the world know there is a town in Washington called George?

Oh, right. The band that wouldn’t call their Reflektor Tour “The Reflektour”

  17. That two month gap is interesting. If they’re doing festivals then, they couldn’t do it in towns they’re already going to. Like it was said above, P4K and Lolla are probably ruled out. Milwaukee? Hmmmm

*Crosses fingers hoping for Summerfest headlining*

  18. I realize that this is the band that they’ve become, but it still makes me sad that they’re playing all arenas

    • Oops, sorry pro-stadium crowd. I personally have quite a bit more fun in theaters or bars. I deluded myself into thinking that they’d do a tour at smaller venues since they played a few leading up to the release. But I suppose if you can sellout 25,000 seat stadium then it would be foolish to play to 2,000 in a theater

  19. Don’t know if this is worth pointing out, but the “Boston” show is actually a “Mansfield” show… 40 miles South of Boston.

  20. Oh cool another band I like skips Dallas.

  21. Finally someone comes to EDMONTON!

  22. I’ll always kick myself for not seizing the opportunity to see them at a venue smaller than a professional basketball stadium.

  23. Seems to me like they’re probably too big in the britches for p4k these days. When I went to p4k the headliners were AnCo and Fleet Foxes. Both bigger name indie bands, but Arcade Fire isn’t even really an indie band anymore. I can see them headlining larger scale festies, but p4k is (unfortunely) “beneath” them now.
