Ty Dolla Sign

Last year, the great Californian R&B hornball Ty Dolla $ign linked up with pioneering ratchet music producer DJ Mustard and longtime rap buddy Joe Moses for the awesomely scandalous and slinky “Paranoid,” an immediate highlight of both Ty$’s Beach House 2 mixtape and Mustard’s Ketchup mixtape. But when Ty$ tried to turn “Paranoid” into a proper single, he swapped out Joe Moses for B.o.B., of all people. This was a mistake. So now, for his forthcoming Beach House EP, Ty$ has once again switched the vocalists on “Paranoid” around, and this time, hes upgraded. The new remix of the track features R&B star Trey Songz acting slithery, monotone New York rapper French Montana riffing on an old Kurupt verse, and Mustard doing his best Fatman Scoop hypeman routine. It’s not quite as sticky as the original, but I’ll take these guys over B.o.B. anytime. Listen below.

The Beach House EP is out 1/21 on Atlantic. Check also the Wiz Khalifa/Mustard collab “Or Nah.”
