Neneh Cherry - "Everything"

Next month, the great Neneh Cherry returns with her Four Tet-produced album Blank Project, Cherry’s first full-on solo LP since 1996. We’ve heard the title track and seen Cherry perform a couple of songs live in studio, and now Cherry has shared the massive, sprawling, tough seven-minute single “Everything,” which builds from a skittery groove to something much, much bigger. As the song progresses, Cherry goes from singing to rapping to this amazing rhythmic yell-cackle thing; it’s awesome. Cherry has also commissioned a 10-minute remix of the song from experimental techno big dogs Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer, and we’ve got streams of the original and the remix below.

Blank Project is out 2/26 on Smalltown Supersound.

  1. For a second, I thought this was going to be a cover of NIN’s “Everything.” Good stuff.
