Mac DeMarco - Salad Days

Since releasing his 2012 album 2, Mac DeMarco has built a serious name for himself as a maker of zoned-out, off-kilter indie rock jams and as a wiseacre with a raucous live show. DeMarco’s now ready to announce that his new album Salad Days will drop this spring. He’s already previewed songs from that album on Canadian radio, but now we get the full details. According to a press release, the LP finds DeMarco in a more vulnerable, soulful state of mind than past records. Lead single “Passing Out Pieces” is a droning, queasy number about sharing your entire self with the public. Below, check out a stream of “Passing Out Pieces,” an exceedingly lo-fi teaser video for the album, and the LP’s tracklist.

01 “Salad Days”
02 “Blue Boy”
03 “Brother”
04 “Let Her Go”
05 “Goodbye Weekend”
06 “Let My Baby Stay”
07 “Passing Out Pieces”
08 “Treat Her Better”
09 “Chamber Of Reflection”
10 “Go Easy”
11 “Jonny’s Odyssey”

Salad Days is out 4/1 on Captured Tracks.

  1. Major Damon Albarn vibes. It’s not bad, but has the press anticipation behind this been heavy? I thought 2 was just okay, so I don’t get the salivation part of it…

  2. Mac Demarco is probably the artist I’m most excited about these days.

  3. The hype on this record might leave him all chopped up. Hopefully this album will ad”dress” any concerns.

  4. Tom Breihan hates Mac DeMarco

  5. everybody is doubling as record industry wonks these days. press anticipation? somebody please chime in and say ‘this isn’t a strong lead single’. or something. what is wrong with you people.
