We’re deep in the thick of awards season, and apparently that extends to realms way beyond music and movies. Lana Del Rey, up for a few Grammys but snubbed for an Oscar, recently performed at a very different awards ceremony. The Breakthrough Prizes honor scientists who have made big developments, and LDR, introduced by Kevin Spacey, sang “Video Games” at their ceremony. The logic, I suppose, was that scientists like video games? Whatever the case, Del Rey has gotten a whole lot better at singing live on TV since the SNL disaster, and you can watch her performance below.

The Breakthrough Prizes air 1/27 at 9PM on the Science Channel. In other LDR news, the singer’s “Once Upon A Dream” (from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty) will debut on iTunes this Sunday night.
