Some of the music on the new Girls soundtrack Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do is brand new (Jenny Lewis and Rostam Batmanglij’s “Completely Not Me” and Beck’s “Blue Moon,” for instance), and some of it is old (“Wonderwall”). Today we present something in between: A fresh remix of Cat Power’s 2003 classic “Free,” in which the formerly brisk and minimalist recording is transformed into full-scale dance music. Chan Marshall has lived in bars; now she can live on in the clubs. Listen below.

Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do is out 2/11 via Atlantic. Pre-order here.
