This summer’s Boston Calling festival appears to be one of the few big multi-day shows that OutKast won’t be headlining this year. Instead, Jack Johnson tops a bill that otherwise skews orthodox-indie. The festival, which had its inaugural edition last year, comes to City Hall Plaza 5/23-25, and the bill includes Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Tegan And Sara, Jenny Lewis, Phosphorescent, Built To Spill, Kurt Vile And The Violators, Warpaint, Cass McCombs, Brand New, and Maxïmo Park. (There’s also a lot of radio-friendly down-the-middle stuff like Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, the Head And The Heart, and Bastille.) At the moment, one headlining act is being kept secret, but judging by the rest of the lineup, it’s probably not OutKast. For more info, head over here.
