Arcade Fire Triple J

Arcade Fire is among the “sunburned but beautiful” people of Australia for the Big Day Out Festival right now, so they stopped by Triple J to perform acoustic versions of Reflektor rockers “Normal Person” and “Joan Of Arc” plus Neon Bible closer “My Body Is A Cage.” All the songs sound rad in the format, especially “Normal Person,” which splits the difference between Springsteen and Talking Heads with the best of ’em (and opens with a comical tribute to Blur’s “Song 2″). Watch video of “Normal Person” and “My Body Is A Cage” below, and hear “Joan Of Arc” in the SoundCloud embed along with an interview and the other two songs.

The Reflektor tour starts 3/6 in Louisville.

  1. Man, My Body is a Cage sounds great.

  2. what thing did win say this time that people will be outraged about

  3. Wow. That’s fantastic. They should’ve recorded Normal Person live for the album.

  4. They’re in such a better mood than they were last time they were here. It was a couple of years ago for the same festival, and when I saw them in Perth (the last stop on the tour) Win said something along the lines of “This is probably the last festival we’ll ever play”. I guess lugging a pipe-organ around Australia and playing directly into the sun at 2pm really got to them.

So glad they came back, just wish it was on their own tour. Still, I’m effectively seeing Arcade Fire open for Pearl Jam on Sunday, so I’m pretty happy with that.
