Rush Midnight is Russ Manning, a young Brooklyn resident and former Twin Shadow sideman who now makes lush, slinky dance-pop on his own. He’s got a self-titled debut album coming out, and Death From Above 1979’s Jesse F. Keeler produced it. The single “In Your Room” is bubbly, funky, faraway bedroom pop, like what Washed Out might sound like if Ernest Greene had spent as much time listening to disco as he did to New Order.
