It has been several years since we first heard Jason Quever’s last album as Papercuts, Fading Parade, but he’s back with a new album and label. Life Among The Savages will be out on Easy Sound Recording Co. and today we’ve got the first single, “Still Knocking At The Door.” It’s an elegant piece of chamber pop that finds Quever right at home singing over a steady bed of strings. Listen to it below.

Life Among The Savages is out 5/10 via Easy Sound Recording Co.

  1. I have two comments….

#1 – Papercuts are f’ing amazing. Everything is so gauzy, ornate, and simple…all at once. I simply love this band.

#2 – And I know I’m going to catch holy hell for this as it has nothing to do with the topic at hand….
Am I the only one that thinks “Montana” by Youth Lagoon is the one of the most emotionally moving songs they’ve ever heard? It stuns me every single time I listen to it.

    Bash away gang…….

  2. #1 – The only Papercuts song I’d heard before today is “Do What You Will” which I love. This one sounds great too – now I have to check out more of his stuff.

#2 – I just listened to Montana and it’s also great, but I’m thinking his voice is a bit of an acquired taste which I haven’t acquired quite yet – maybe this song will do it for me.

#3 – It’s a comment board, I say post whatever the hell you want as long as it’s not trolly BS.
