A year ago, the Glasgow synthpop three-piece Chvrches made a name for themselves with their single “Recover,” the earliest indication we heard that they were something special. Now, Chvrches have recruited Kingdom, the great Brooklyn dance producer and Fade To Mind label head, to remix “Recover.” In his reworking, Kingdom brings some of the same architectural sparseness and icy melodic inventiveness he’s brought to his own tracks and his collaborations with Kelela. After a listen or two, I have to say: There’s a decent chance this remix improves on the original. Listen below.
