Watch London Grammar Cover All Saints’ “Pure Shores”

London Grammar

The British girl group All Saints were one of many pop entities from that great late-’90s/early-’00s moment where big-money chartpop started incorporating all these weird, slick production ideas. Their song “Pure Shores,” a William Orbit-produced midtempo swirler from the soundtrack to The Beach, was a massive British hit and a great song. It’s largely forgotten now, but the slinky British synthpop/R&B trio London Grammar remembers it. During a recent visit to BBC’s Live Lounge, they tried out a soft, restrained cover of it, and it sounded great. Watch it, along with some unfortunate DJ hype, below.

London Grammar’s album If You Wait is out now on Metal & Dust Recordings. Now someone please convince Jessie Ware to cover “I Know Where It’s At.”
