AC/DC - Highway To Hell

AC/DC are the single greatest gift Australia has ever given the world. This past weekend, Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band played Melbourne’s Aami Park, and he paid his host country tribute by playing a triumphantly bar-rocking cover AC/DC’s immortal “Highway To Hell.” Special guest Eddie Vedder and Tom Morello both helped out. Watch a fan-made video below.

Somehow, Bruce’s voice is sounding even more wizened than Brian Johnson’s lately. I didn’t even know that was possible.

  1. “AC/DC are the single greatest gift Australia has ever given the world”??? You are SOOO high. I suspect yet another critic who didn’t live through the era in which AC/DC stank up the world. And so, another nostalgia-addled vantage. Amongst the many better musical options (look it up and take your pick amongst Talking Heads, The Clash, The Jam, Marley, pick-amongst-the-10,000-better-artists), AC/DC were and remain shite. If you want to get nostalgic in the Australian context, go with The Saints or many other better options. AC/DC–overrated crap.

  2. Well, none of those bands are actually Australian, Lefort. Good effort though. I love the Saints, Rose Tattoo and Radio Birdman, but even combining their best records, you still don’t touch the mark AC/DC have left.
