The Men - Tomorrow's Hits

We’ve heard three songs from the upcoming album by the Men, Tomorrow’s Hits. “Pearly Gates,” “Another Night,” and “Different Days” all show that the band was serious in their ambitions to make more of a studio album with a high-fidelity sound. They all sounded great, and it’s not remotely surprising that the other five songs on here kick just as much ass. If you want to hear for yourself, you can now stream the whole album via NYTimes.com.

Tomorrow’s Hits is out 3/4 via Sacred Bones.

  1. Excellent album, though it’ll likely be overshadowed by some of the more ambitious albums that surround its release date.

  2. Agreed on both fronts. I think that’s part of their schtick–they put their heads down and consistently churn out solid work that has almost nothing to do with what most of their peers are doing. I mean that as a good thing.

The Men are creating a body of work, and are one of the best *rock n roll* bands working today. For them it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

    I love this album.

  3. Despite their somewhat insular vision, I don’t see why they’re so lowly regarded that a stream of their new album only merits being listed among the mp3s of the day in a place where it only stays on the front page for a few hours. For me, New Moon was one of the most criminally underrated albums of 2013.
