ASAP Rocky & Schoolboy Q

Schoolboy Q’s greatest rapping partner, it turns out, may not be any of the members of his Black Hippy crew; it may, in fact, be A$AP Rocky. Q got one of his first big looks when he delivered a scene-stealing guest verse on Rocky’s LiveLoveA$AP highlight “Brand New Guy,” and his biggest hit might still be the Rocky team-up “Hands On The Wheel.” Given that history, it’s a bit weird that Rocky never shows up on Q’s new, excellent major-label debut Oxymoron. For some reason, though he does show up on a bonus track from the version of Oxymoron that’s for sale at Target. That bonus track is called “Californication.” It’s six minutes long, it bangs hard, and it could’ve fit just fine on the album. Listen below.

Oxymoron is out now on TDE/Interscope.
