The Fresh And Onlys - House Of Spirits

The members of the great San Fransisco psych-rock band the Fresh & Onlys like to stay busy. The band didn’t release an album last year, but they did give us their Soothsayer EP, and at least two members of the group dropped solo albums. The band just announce plans to release House Of Spirits, their new album and the follow-up to 2012′s very good Long Slow Dance. The band recorded this one in San Francisco with Trans Am’s Phil Manley producing. “Bells Of Paonia,” the first single, is a lush and pretty fuzz-guitar drone with plenty of starry-eyed melody in there, and it’s the closest this band has ever sounded to the Spacemen 3. It’s a good song, and you should listen to it below.

House Of Spirits is out 6/10 on Mexican Summer.

  1. You just made my day. Long Slow Dance has become one of my favorite records and a go-to for road trips. This sounds great.

  2. The West is still the best.
