Emily Reo caught our attention last year with her unique electronic-pop songs like “Coast” and her cover of “Birds Of Paradise.” Despite the heavily electronic arrangements, they still sounded like some beautiful, worn thing you’d find hidden away in an attic. She recently collaborated with Cuddle Formation (aka Noah Klein) to contribute this new track to the Dreams project. The Stadiums & Shrines art series takes visual collages by Nathaniel Whitcomb and lets a band (previous entries have included Mutual Benefit, Dustin Wong, and Gem Club) create music inspired by it. “Dreams Of Bermuda,” which took inspiration from the collage you can see in excerpt above (and in full here), is warm and tropical like the name suggests, as Reo and Klein layer gentle melodies under thumping drum beats and twitchy Oval-style glitches. Listen and download it below.
You can find more of the Dream project over at Stadium & Shrines.
