Red Hot Chili Peppers

While we all remember a lot of unhappy viewers reporting to the FCC during M.I.A.’s Superbowl performance a few years back. Now many complaints about the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ performance have surfaced as a way to prove that people will find a way to get offended by anything. The issues range from being disgusted by Anthony Kiedis to being angry that David Beckham appeared in his underwear in a commercial. The one above might be the crème de la crème, but you can read more below.

Head to Deadspin (who file a FOIA each year to obtain these often funny complaints) to see them all. Not a single complaint is about the fact that their instruments were not plugged in.

  1. You would think after Janet Jackson that the Super Bowl audience would be used to seeing nipples at halftime.

  2. And Bruno Mars sang “Your sex takes me to paradise.” I think he was also talking about his penis.

  3. ‘…naked to the waste’. lol.

Good god that entire quote is amazing.

  4. Geez, can’t anyone get the lyrics to “Give It Away” right?

  5. Krusty the Clown: Now, boys, the network has a problem with some of your lyrics. Do you mind changing them for the show?
    Anthony Kiedis: Forget you, clown.
Chad Smith: Yeah, our lyrics are like our children, man. No way.
Krusty the Clown: Well, okay, but here where it says, “What I got you gotta get and put it in ya,” how about just, “What I’d like is I’d like to hug and kiss ya.”
    Flea: Wow. That’s much better.
Arik Marshall: Everyone can enjoy that.

  6. Hahahaha someone thinks Locked Out of Heaven is actually titled “Your Sex Takes Me To Paradise”

  7. Hahahaha someone actually knows the name of a Bruno Mars song
