Friendly Fires Before Your Eyes

Unless you count frontman Ed Macfarlane’s vocal on Disclosure’s “Defeated No More,” UK dance-rockers Friendly Fires haven’t released new music since 2011′s Pala. That changes today, as the group unveils a collaborative track with the Asphodells, the duo comprising Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J Fairplay. “Before Your Eyes” is the sound of an ethereal glow zipping ahead at a fervent pace, resulting in a sensation of hazy urgency that feels a lot like hurrying to finish up your work on Friday afternoon so you can enjoy your weekend. Listen below. You’ll also find a trailer for Friendly Fires and the Asphodells’ upcoming double-A-side single, which features another new song called “Velo.”

The “Before Your Eyes”/”Velo” single is out 3/31 on Friendly Fires’ new label, Telophase.

  1. Very cool track. I would love to hear a full album collaboration but maybe they should just combine their band names for the release. I highly doubt that The Assfires is taken.

  2. Sensational.
