Potty Mouth

On the Record Store Day compilation Faux Real, various DIY punks cover songs by various fictional bands. We’ve already heard Speedy Ortiz’s Sadie Dupuis taking on Josie And The Pussycats’ “Pretend To Be Nice,” and now the Western Massachusetts Band To Watch Potty Mouth has done the same thing with “Take Me Away,” the song that Lindsay Lohan’s band Pink Slip plays in the 2003 Freaky Friday remake. That was a fun pop-punk song in the movie, and it’s a fun pop-punk song in its Potty Mouth incarnation, too. Listen below.

Faux Real is out Record Store Day (4/19) via Father/Daughter.

  1. Hold the phone… there’s gonna be a cover of a MYSTIK SPIRAL song on this thing!? Adding this to my RSD list immediately!

  2. The beginning sounds exactly like that Metallica song…

  3. Take Me Away was originally by Lash. Before Freaky Friday…
