Somehow, it’s refreshing to learn about a music festival that doesn’t cram every big-name act it can find across three days, that doesn’t charge a small fortune for weekend passes, and that doesn’t have OutKast headlining. All of that applies to Portland’s MusicFestNW, which this year comes to the new location of Waterfront Park 8/16-17. Spoon and Girl Talk will headline the two days of this year’s festival, and the small, well-curated lineup has plenty of good stuff further down the bill. HAIM, Phantogram, Run The Jewels, tUnE-yArDs, Future Islands, Fucked Up, the Antlers, Man Man, EMA, Gardens & Villa, Pink Mountaintops, Thundercat, and others will perform. Best of all, the weekend passes will run you less than three figures. Check out all the info here.
