Tori Amos

Tori Amos is getting ready to release her new album Unrepentant Geraldines and recently performed its delicate, mystical “Selkie” on Soundcheck for WNYC. In traditional Scottish and Irish folklore, selkies are seals that can remove their skin and become human on land. In addition to the Soundcheck audio below, you can watch her entire Rough Trade NYC concert from Tuesday night, which includes both “Selkie” and the previously released single “Trouble’s Lament.”

  1. I wish more of the new album was more like Selkie and Trouble’s Lament. I guess I’m still wishing for a Scarlet’s Walk 2.0.

    • i think SW is unique and really hard to bring back in a new record, Trouble’s lament is a good track, but after listening to ‘shades of blue’… uehhhh i dont really feel keen to the album, i might end up buying a couple of tracks and that’s it, everything feels so superficial… the cover artwork, her instagram boom, trendies selfie etc…
