“Recover,” the single that started everything for the Scottish synthpop trio Chvrches, is more than a year old now, but it still sounds like a beam of crystalline light. The song worked as well as ever last night, when Chvrches took it to the stage on The Tonight Show. And as an online bonus, they also did a quick video interview with Jimmy Fallon’s people, talking about how they first wrote “Recover.” It’s not really much of a surprise that they’re not exactly lyrics people, that the songs are about the ways the drums and vocals work together more than anything else.
