When you’ve had a Beyoncé remix sitting on your hard drive for a few months, you’re eventually going to want the world to hear it. It’s just human nature. “***Flawless” was one of the highlights from Beyoncé’s great self-titled album, and with its clipped electro-beat and its snarling intensity, it may have owed some stylistic debt to M.I.A. And M.I.A., presumably at Beyoncé’s request, recorded a remix of the track, sneering over a retolled low-tech version of the beat and throwing in some elements from Beyoncé’s 2008 track “Diva” for good measure.
