Watch Belong, A Short Film About Bullying And Skateboarding Soundtracked By Odd Future’s Left Brain

Belong

Belong is a new short film from the director Lije Sarki, and it tells the story of a skater kid who endures a for-no-reason group beatdown but who keeps skating anyway and sees his life get better because of it. The film, which was Kickstarter-funded and which debuted at SXSW, blurs teenage social politics into a sort of soft abstraction, and its skateboarding shots, many of them filmed from high above, are just beautiful. The reason you’re reading about it on this site is that the Odd Future/MellowHype producer Left Brain supplied the moody, jazz-influenced hip-hop score. It fits the film nicely. Check it out below.

The best revenge, I’m told, is living well.
