Mac DeMarco - "Passing Out Pieces" video

Passing Out Pieces,” the first single from Mac DeMarco’s new album Salad Days, is a pretty, vaporous thing, so of course the video is a nonsensical hardcore bloodfest. Pierce McGarry, the bassist in DeMarco’s band, directed the exceedingly low-budget video, which captures DeMarco running around and gorily murdering people for the slightest of reasons. It’s the Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer of goofy indie rock videos. Also, there’s a scene where DeMarco gives birth. It’s a lot to take in, and you can take it in below.

Salad Days is out now on Captured Tracks.

  1. I feel like it’s the lyric, “What mom don’t know has taken its toll on me,” taken to an extreme conclusion.

If anything it proves they could do anything for the music video because “Passing Out Pieces” is simply that great of a song.

  2. video of the year. once the music career is over he can definitely get in the directing game
