In just under a month, Tom Krell will release, “What Is This Heart?”, his third album as How To Dress Well. In anticipation of that LP, he has now dropped NO WORDS TO SAY: Songs for “What Is This Heart?”, which includes some of the music that inspired the album, along with some covers, and brief teasers of new songs “Precious Love” (just after 18 minutes in) and “A Power” (at 28:20) from the new album. The mix also includes a cover of Taking Back Sunday’s “You Know How I Do Kinda” (at approximately 25 minutes in) and at 13 minutes in an unofficial “duet edit” of “Window,” the closer on Angel Olsen’s excellent Burn Your Fire For No Witness from earlier this year. The whole mix is really worth checking out though, not just because of how well Krell lets everything flow, but also because it gives some great insight into “What Is This Heart?” which, not to spoil anything, is a very special album.
