It’s a gamble buying tickets to see Morrissey this year because you’re never quite sure if the show will actually happen. Last year Moz had to cancel numerous performances due to health issues before eventually canceling his entire tour. Now, after canceling his Atlanta show, things seem to be repeating themselves. Moz just canceled his performance on 6/6 in Atlantic City; the venue has promised that the show will be rescheduled for 6/22, and the 6/6 tickets will be honored at the new show. In other news, one of the artists scheduled to open for him on this tour, Kristeen Young, will no longer be performing with Moz. There is no explanation as to why she was dropped from the bill, though she has provided a statement, which you can read below.

We won’t be continuing as opening band for the Morrissey tour. Thanks to all who showed up early and gave us such life-sustaining enthusiasm. Thanks to Morrissey for his years of support and generosity. There are lots of plans and lots of possibilities and we can’t wait to tear into them.

In addition to that statement and the cancellations, some fans are speculating there is something fishy going on here, as evidenced by comments Young posted on Facebook (via Morrissey-solo.com):

On Tuesday Young refuted the Atlanta promoter’s statement that, like Morrissey, she couldn’t perform because she came down with a virus.

Morrissey’s new album World Peace Is None Of Your Business is out 7/15 via Harvest.
