Last time we checked in on the young UK rock band Superfood, they were channeling Britpop’s wildest impulses. “Right On Satellite,” the single they’re debuting today, reminds me of Britpop too, but rather than the genre’s most raucous blasts of cockney bluster, there’s a sense of careful execution in these charging guitars, pulsating shakers, and ebullient gang vocals. It’s just as much fun as “TV” and even more accomplished. Rather than inspiring party-time paroxysms, this is music that will pick you up an carry you away, music made to wash over large crowds of people and instantly turn them into Superfood fans. Listen below.
“Right On Satellite” is out 7/28 via Infectious Music.
