Herbert – “One Two Three”

By Tom Breihan / June 18, 2014 - 9:16 am

The conceptual dance-music explorer Matthew Herbert started out releasing music under just his last name, and though he hasn’t used that name in eight years, he’s bringing it back for a new EP called Part 6. Herbert released his Part 1 through Part 5 EPs in 1995 and 1996, and so this follows as the years-late sequel. “One Two Three,” the first single, has a vocal from Rahel, of the London band Hejira, and it’s a tasteful and streamlined downtempo house track, one way more accessible than most of the music Herbert has released in recent years. Listen to it and check out the Part 6 tracklist below.
