Lemonade

The first thing you hear on Lemonade’s Minus Tide is the sound of an impossibly crisp drum machine quickly tumbling around before bleary synth stabs bleed in. It opens the album with the feeling of fast-forwarding and moving in slow motion at once, and it’s disorienting in the best way possible. Even as the song folds in echoing vocals and a bright synth hook, that backbone sticks throughout, bouncing from one shiny melody to the next. We haven’t heard anything from this trio in a couple years, but “Stepping” is one hell of a way to make a reentrance. Listen below.

Minus Tide is out 9/9 via Cascine.
