The latest single from Jeff and Spencer Tweedy’s Sukierae is here, following “I’ll Sing It” and “Summer Noon.” It’s a slow jam called “Wait For Love” that features some highly pleasant whistling. Alongside the Tweedys, Scott McCaughey plays piano and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius provide backing vocals on it. The song arrives in two forms: a studio recording and a live video by Piper Ferguson. Hear both below.

Sukierae is out 9/16 on dBpm. Pre-order it here.

  1. Jeff Tweedy is the master of the slow jam. I’m really diggin this project with his son, they have a really good chemistry together and all the songs just kind of make you float with that gentle ease that Tweedy is so well known for. The live version is nice but the drums on the recorded version definitely make the song and not to mention that whistling is a nice sprinkle of lightness to add towards the song. Also COS says it comes out 9/26 not 9/16 not sure which side thats a mistake on

  2. Really nice. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard from this albums so far, and I’m consistently listening more than once. Good sign I could buy the album and get some joy out of repeated listening. Like this jam so much I’m not going to check out the live version. I want to live with the studio version for a minute, first.
