Weird Al - "Foil"

The latest in Weird Al Yankovic’s eight-videos-in-eight-days Mandatory Fun rollout plan is “Foil,” his parody of Lorde’s “Royals.” What begins as a celebration of preserving leftover food spirals into a conspiracy theory anthem — tin foil hats, see? Patton Oswalt guests as a video director with a secret and The State/Reno 911! guys Tom Lennon and Ben Garant have cameos as shadow government operatives. Watch below.

Mandatory Fun is out now on RCA.

  1. Al is really getting weird. I’m talking by Al standards here

  2. Best of the three, I’d say.

  3. i’ll never listen to any of these again, but they all have been great thus far and appreciate that weird al is still a thing in 2014

  4. Weird Al has been so on point with these. Well done. Just bring back the mustache and we’ll party like it’s 1989.

  5. Agreed with all comments above. I would also like to point out that Lorde and Weird Al have the same hair.

  6. This went from good to great. Best track so far.

  7. The man is pushing 60 and doesnt look a day over 25. Now thats weird.

    • The streeeeeeeeetch of this is what makes it endearing. Al knows his way around a hook. And he sure as hell knows this one was tough. But there’s no way he wasn’t gonna do something with Royals.

  9. Gotta love Weird Al.

  10. It seemed like a phoned in one until about halfway through… and then…. yeah brilliant. The video really sells it too. Weird Al is winning the internet this week.

  11. I never sit around listening to Weird Al songs, but I absolutely love the dude. It’s awesome that he’s still doing his thing after all these years. He has been a mainstay in pop culture since I was a kid, and that was a long time ago!!

  12. Word Crimes is the best song of the bunch so far, though. That’s a real piece of genius right there.
