A Sunny Day In Glasgow – “Almost Like Emotion (The Drop)”

A Sunny Day In Glasgow made their cataclysmic return this year with the sunshine shoegaze opus Sea When Absent, which would have been more than enough. But the Philadelphia/Brooklyn/Sydney combo has more new music in store. They’ll soon release a limited-edition EP called NO DEATH in select UK record stores as an accessory to Sea When Absent. Synth-heavy EP track “Almost Like Emotion (The Drop)” is as lustrous and expansive as anything on the record. Like most of this band’s work, it channels rich musical history and projects it out into the world in shapes and colors all its own. “Almost Like Emotion (The Drop)” embodies the dual sensations of home-bound security and liberated exploration evoked in its lyrics: “This is home again/ I want it all.” Hear the beautiful music below.
