Literature

Philadelphia band Literature showed a total adoration for Kinks-style ’60s pop on their recent single “The English Softhearts,” and their new album, Chorus, explores that sound even further. They tackle it with charm, humor, and lots of jangling guitars, which bring to mind another ’60s-obsessed band: the Soft Boys. So it might be more accurate to say Chorus is indebted to an ’80s love for the ’60s, but really, you don’t need to say anything — just stream Chorus and you’ll enjoy yourself a whole lot.

Chorus is out 8/19 via Slumberland.
