Allison Crutchfield - Lean In To It

Allison Crutchfield is the leader of the very good indie rock band Swearin’, and her twin sister (and former bandmate) Katie Crutchfield is Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield. Allison just released her solo EP Lean In To It last week, and it’s nothing like the stark acoustic music that Katie was making when she started out on her own as Waxahatchee. Instead, the Lean In To It EP is light, breezy synthy music, and it reminds me, more than anything else, of the fellow former Philly DIY guy Atom And His Package. Sam Cook-Parrott of the Philadephia band Radiator Hospital adds bass and some vocals. Stream the EP below.

You can buy Lean In To It at Bandcamp.

  1. purchased. I’ve listened to Swearin’ and Waxahatchee so much that I’m fairly certain I’ll buy anything the two sisters put out. First listen I really dig this and how well it contrasts her sisters work yet still resembles it with the beautiful vocals.

  2. Sheryl Sandberg covers?
