Passion Pit Frontman Responds To Henry Rollins' Suicide Article, Says LP3 Is Almost Done

Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos has been open about his mental illness before. He even won an award last year for increasing awareness and putting a positive face on his experiences with bipolar disorder. Angelakos took to Twitter to criticize Henry Rollins for his controversial editorial about suicide. (Rollins recently apologized for his words.) “Yes, @henryrollins, you made it all so clear for the rest of us. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, especially while the family is grieving,” the singer said. Read his full series of tweets below. He also mentions that Passion Pit is almost done with their third album.

  1. Michael Angelakos seems like such a cool dude. Passion Pit played a concert at my university, and by some stroke of magic they all came to an after party thrown by my ski team. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there, but I heard he was real cool and that a good time was had by many.

  2. Really like both his responses and the fact that more music is coming from them too. Gossamer was great, seemed to have been forgotten too quickly though

  3. This whole thing feels a lot like celebrity message board. What Rollins said was bad, for sure, but everybody has an emotional melt down on the internet from time to time, we’re just not famous. Rollins is usually a pretty sharp knife and he’s issued a very sincere sounding apology. I hope this doesn’t escalate any further.

  4. That doesn’t look like a cheap plug at all.
