The exciting recent wave of insular-stoner Atlanta weirdo rappers, like ILoveMakonnen and Father, owe a lot to Rome Fortune, a rapper who’s connected to much of his city’s street-rap scene but who hasn’t let that stop him from dyeing his beard blue or rapping on Four Tet beats. Rome’s new Small VVorld mixtape features a couple of tracks we’ve posted, like the Makonnen collab “FriendsMaybe” and the Four Tet-produced “One Time For.” It also has a pair of appearances from viral rap monster OG Maco, as well as production from people like Blood Diamonds, SuicideYear, and Bassnectar.
