Dev Hynes Piano Improv Scores NYC Ferguson Protest Film

A grand jury’s decision not to indict Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson for shooting unarmed teenager Michael Brown last week spawned a lot of protests. Director Aaron Stewart-Ahn filmed one of those protests in New York on the night of 11/25/14 and assembled a seven-minute short film from his footage. The soundtrack to his “ambient portrait” is a piano improvisation Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes recorded live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Watch below.
