Tinashe’s biggest song so far is “2 On,” the Schoolboy Q collaboration built on a beat by the ubiquitous DJ Mustard. Most of Aquarius, one of the year’s best albums, doesn’t sound like Tinashe’s breakthrough hit, but her new non-album single “Fuckin Wit Me” does; that’s because Mustard is once again on that beat. The song is decent, and it’s a neat bit of symmetry to start and end the year with a Mustard production, but on first pass I can see why “Fuckin Wit Me” has been relegated to an online castoff. Maybe I just need to hear Drake take a crack at it? Listen and evaluate for yourself below.
